Introduction

Confirmation is a significant sacrament in the Catholic Church, marking the deepening of one’s faith and the strengthening of the Holy Spirit within. At Sto. Niño de Taguig Parish, we invite young adults and adults to receive this sacrament and affirm their commitment to the Church.

Procedures

Registration

Candidates for Confirmation must register at the parish office before the scheduled Confirmation date.

The following documents are required:

  • Baptismal Certificate
  • First Communion Certificates.

Certificate of no Record Confirmation

Requirement/s

  • Birth Certificate

Seminar

Candidates and their sponsors are required to attend a Confirmation Seminar. It is essential to attend the seminar at least three weeks before the scheduled Confirmation to ensure proper preparation.

Celebration

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated within a special Mass presided over by the bishop or an appointed priest. This solemn ceremony includes the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism oil, symbolizing the strengthening of the Holy Spirit. The celebration is usually scheduled on a Sunday to allow the parish community to participate.

Sponsors

Sponsors, also known as godparents, play a crucial role in the candidate’s spiritual journey. They must be practicing Catholics who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. Each candidate can have one or two sponsors.
