Matthew 4:4
"It is written, One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Introduction
The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. At Sto. Niño de Taguig Parish, we invite all parishioners to partake in this sacred sacrament, which commemorates the Last Supper and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Procedures
Preparation
Before receiving the Eucharist, parishioners are encouraged to prepare themselves spiritually. This includes:
- Confession: Receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be in a state of grace.
- Fasting: Observing a one-hour fast before receiving Holy Communion, except for water and medicine.
Receiving the Eucharist
During the Mass, the faithful are invited to come forward to receive Holy Communion. The following guidelines should be observed:
- Reverence: Approach the altar with reverence and respect.
- Posture: You may receive the Eucharist either on the tongue or in the hand. If receiving in the hand, place one hand over the other to create a throne for the Body of Christ.
- Response: When the priest or extraordinary minister presents the Eucharist and says, “The Body of Christ,” respond with “Amen” to affirm your belief.
Adoration
Our parish also offers opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, where parishioners can spend time in prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration is held every first Friday of the month from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
